Hi there!

My name is Henry Chadwick. I’m a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist & recording engineer/producer/mixer. I’m also pretty good at air hockey. As a recording artist, I’ve released multiple LPs and EPs, some by myself and some with the help of independent record labels. My music has been reviewed by some pretty cool publications (Rolling Stone, Time, Indie Shuffle etc.) and listened to more times than I thought it would be so far as well. In addition to my own continued musical journey music, I also work as a recording engineer/producer (Jesse Daniel, SUBPAR etc.) as well as a session (sometimes touring) drummer & musician (Teens In Trouble, The Coffis Brothers, etc.)

I’ve worked on records for years and enjoy just about every part of the process from producing to mixing to performing to engineering, editing and even mastering occasionally. It’s hard to say what part of the process I enjoy most, but I do know that I love to make records more than just about anything - whether it’s my own music or helping someone else out with their project. I just love being a part of the process and feeling like I’m helping create something and turn an idea into something real.

The Washateria Recording Studio

In 2022 I relocated to Portland, OR & have been hard at work building out a recording studio I can call my own. Being located adjacent to a laundry room, I wanted to call it “The Laundry Room Recording Studio”, but there already were a few of those in existence that I stumbled across. After some research it was brought to my attention that the first laundromats in the states were called Washaterias. With that in mind, and considering I couldn’t find any other Washateria Recording Studios after a google search, an idea was born.

Washateria Recordings LLC — The Label

Over the years I’ve gotten to be a part of a lot of records that I’m really proud of, and every once in a while I get to work on something that seems like it’s so musically aligned with my own music and music I’m passionate about that I wish I could get involved in more than just the recording of it.

It has been a long simmering dream of mine to start a little indie label of my own where I could release my music and music that I believe in & believe would be enjoyed by people that also enjoy my music. Releasing music can be hard as an independent artist. There is a lot to learn and a lot that I’ve learned the hard way - as well as been lucky enough to learn from examples of great teams of people over the years. Too often a great record is made and released without getting a shot at reaching an audience that will appreciate it. The dream with Washateria Recordings LLC is to help release some of those records and help them get a fighting chance out in the cold cold world.
